Formed in 1988 in Rotterdam, Sinister emerged during the golden age of death metal. Founders Mike, André, Aad, and Ron quickly carved their place in the scene with demos like "Perpetual Damnation" and a promo tape that led to a deal with Nuclear Blast Records. Their debut album "Cross the Styx" (1992) became an instant classic and set the tone for their brutal and technical approach to death metal. They toured extensively alongside legends like Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, and Deicide, solidifying their name in the death metal world.

Over the years, Sinister released seminal albums like "Diabolical Summoning" (1993), "Hate" (1995), and "Aggressive Measures" (1998), showcasing their evolution into an even more intense and brutal sound. Despite lineup changes, the band remained prolific, releasing "Creative Killings" (2001), "Savage or Grace" (2003), and "Afterburner" (2006). Their signing with Massacre Records in 2008 marked a new era with albums like "The Silent Howling" and "Legacy of Ashes".

In recent years, Sinister has continued to thrive with acclaimed releases such as "The Carnage Ending" (2012), "The Post-Apocalyptic Servant" (2014), and "Deformation of the Holy Realm" (2020). After lineup shifts in 2022 and 2023, including the addition of drummer Simon Skrlec, Sinister is ready for their next chapter.
