IGNEA is a Ukrainian melodic metal band that mixes heavy riffs, breakdowns and blastbeats with symphonic, electronic and folk elements. The way they tell the story creates an experience close to a soundtrack.
Early in their career, IGNEA made history as the first Ukrainian metal band to release an original song with a full symphonic orchestra. The song "Alga," an anthem inspired by the battle cry of Crimean Tatars defending their country after the annexation of Crimea, has garnered nearly 10 million views on YouTube.
The band won the Best Ukrainian Metal Act award, where their second album "The Realms of Fire and Death" was named Metal Album of the Year and IGNEA was voted Best Ukrainian Metal Band of 2020. Despite the ongoing war, IGNEA released a new album in 2023 inspired by traveler and photographer Sofia Jablonskaya and played dozens of shows including a European tour with Fear Factory. IGNEA has gained respect not only as a band, but also as cultural ambassadors for Ukraine, spreading awareness of the situation in their country through their music and words.
