English death metal veterans BENEDICTION are currently experiencing their second peak with their comeback album "Scriptures". However, in the time of the return of old school death metal, it brings not only the classic and honest death metal that sounded through every village and housing estate in the nineties from the speakers of portable cassette players, but also the return of traditional singer Dave Ingram.
BENEDICTION was formed in 1989 by the guitarist tandem of Darren Brookes and Peter Rew, along with one Barney Greenway (who recorded the band's debut "Subconscious Terror"), who continue to form the backbone of the band and its creative duo more than 30 years later. The Birmingham five-piece were quickly signed by German label Nuclear Blast Records and this collaboration continues to this day.
BENEDICTION performed at our festival in 2014 with then Anaal Nathrakh singer Dave Hunt, who was still with them from 1998-2019. But after his departure, the return of classic vocalist Dave Ingram was announced - the voice we know from the albums "The Grand Leveller", "Transcend the Rubicon", "The Dreams You Dread" and "Grind Bastard".
So look forward not only to the hits from "Scriptures", but also the groundbreaking opus "Transcend the Rubicon", often hailed as one of death metal's most influential and important albums.
