Formed in 1992 and releasing 13 albums, the Portuguese wolves made their mark on the European metal scene very early on. They wrote their own chapter in the book of extreme music with the now legendary albums „Wolfheart“ (1995) and „Irreligious“ (1996), which included one of the biggest hits of the whole nineties - „Opium“.
Led by the distinctive voice of Fernando Ribeiro, MOONSPELL still enters their fourth decade as an ambitious ensemble despite their age, and without looking at anything but their own musical evolution, they have turned their gothic metal sound - laid on the genres such as death, doom and black metal - on its head several times. Examples are albums like „Sin“, „The Butterfly Effect“ or „Extinct“ or „Hermitage". Now, they will bring an exclusive show to Basinfirefest to celebrate the 30th anniversary of „Wolfheart“!
